Summer, summer, summer time...
By Mad Max

A lot of people buy new sneakers before the summer, is there anything to think of before you do that? Actually you don’t have to calculate too much before you buy the sneakers you want. All you have to think about is if you call the sneaker ”fresh”.

This is a Nike SB (skateboarding) Dunk.  Nike started it’s skateboard division about a year ago, and it has become popular both with skaters because they are good to skate in and also people that just like the sneakers. SB is known for cool color ways. This white-green has got the nickname ”Spearmint”

What I mean by  ”fresh” is of course (but not the most important thing according to many) that your feet stay fresh and don’t get too warm, and start to smell. ”Fresh” also means that they look ”fresh” and that is something that sneakerheads care about the most in summer. White is very common as well as light or shiny colors.

Another Nike SB shoe, this is a remake of the Tennis Classic. Now it’s made for skateboarding.

Of course taste is something personal but this is one of the sneakers that easily can be referred to be summer fresh.  Much white and shine.

A lot of people would say that leather on shoes isn’t a good thing in the summer because it gets to warm and doesn’t breathe.  That is true, polyester or nylon breathes more and doesn’t ’t get warm like leather. Here are some things that you can look for on the shoe especially if it’s made of leather.

You find ventilation holes mostly on the part of the sneaker right over the toes.  The ventilation can also become from when the material over the toe is a material that breathes better.

Ventilation holes also appear in the middle of the sneakers, right above the sole.

Personally I would not recommend hi-tops like the Nike Air Force 1 in the summer. Because it gets too much like wearing leather boots. But as I said in the beginning, sneakerheads think that style is the important thing and therefore don’t care so much about that they get warm feet. If the sneaker is ”fresh” they are willing to take the heat.

Are these basketball shoes cool enough, that you can live with the sweat you will get wearing them?
