I'm furious!!! FURIOUS!!! I've been buying Chuck Taylors for YEARS and now they all of a sudden decided to make them *classic* Chuck Taylors and triple the price!!! I used to think that expensive sneakers were marketing hype. I play tennis and jog. When my feet started to hurt I went to the doctor. His solution was to buy sneakers with a bit more support (i.e., more expensive). That did the trick.

By far, Nike makes a superior shoe for every category(hoop, running, etc.). It would be very difficult to choose just one as the greatest of all time, but I would have to say the Air Max Uptempo with the full air sole (96). I have it in 3 colors and I had last years in 2 colors. Reebok and Cons just plain suck. I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. The last time I wore a pair of shoes other than Nike was about ten years ago.

Vans rule for this California man! When I was a youngster growing up in Upstate New York, first it was Chuck Taylor All Stars, green, with yellow laces...then it was ProKeds...purple with green laces. Then it was Nike track shoes, and the great Adidas Countries. Over the years, Rebok and Nike have been very kind to the paws, but now...Vans rule!
